Flotilla 88 Lake County, California
Welcome
Flotilla 88 in Lake County, is located in the north central portion of the
state of California, north of the San Francisco Bay Area. It takes its name
from Clear Lake, the dominant geographic feature in the county. The central
geographical feature of Lake County being Clear Lake, the largest natural lake
wholly within California (unlike Lake Tahoe which is partially in Nevada).
In Clear Lake fish for bass, catfish, crappie and bluegill. Blue Lakes has
trout, catfish, bluegill and crappie. Highland Springs Reservoir has catfish,
bass, crappie and bluegill. Indian Valley Reservoir has trout, bass, catfish
and perch. Lake Pillsbury has bass and sunfish.
Clear Lake is served by the Volunteer Members of Flotilla 88. Some of the
vital missions performed are Boating Safety Classes, Courtesy Vessel Safety
Checks, Lake patrol w/local Sheriff Department, Search & Rescue (SAR) on the
Lake, etc.

THE 2010 DHS APPROPRIATIONS ACT, THE U.S. COAST GUARD WILL TERMINATE THE
TRANSMISSION OF ALL U.S. LORAN-C SIGNALS EFFECTIVE 2000Z 08 FEB 2010. AT
THAT TIME, THE U.S. LORAN-C SIGNAL WILL BE UNUSABLE AND PERMANENTLY
DISCONTINUED. THIS TERMINATION DOES NOT AFFECT U.S. PARTICIPATION IN THE
RUSSIAN-AMERICAN OR CANADIAN LORAN-C CHAINS. U.S. PARTICIPATION IN THESE
CHAINS WILL CONTINUE TEMPORARILY IN ACCORDANCE WITH INTERNATIONAL
AGREEMENTS.
